Health and welfare

In the past, it took the Oslo University Hospital up to three months to notify patients whether the lump in their breast was malignant or benign. Such a long waiting period is extremely stressful for patients and, in terms of treating malignant tumours, early diagnosis can mean the difference between life and death. The Oslo University Hospital received funding from the Design-Driven Innovation Programme (DIP) to reduce this waiting time.
