The course

This course is now full. Do you want to be put on the waitlist? Contact Jannicke Hølen via e-mail: jh@doga.no.

Participants will be introduced to the bright world of information design and data visualisation where the intersection of text and image, perception and cognition, beauty and function, logic and emotion enables us to create splendid visions, to reveal what hides behind the data and to address effective messages.

Participants will learn and experience hands-on the design process that lies behind effective visualisations. They will explore how to define a project based on an initial question or curiosity.

The greatest value of a picture is when it forces us to notice what we never expected to see.

John W. Tukey, Exploratory Data Analysis, 1977

They will learn how to gather and organize data, how to identify the message they want to communicate in relation to an audience, how to transform the data into powerful stories and how to choose the most appropriate tools in order to present those stories.

The Information Visualisation course has been an inspiring journey into the amazing world of visual storytelling.
